Good Samaritan Hospital Selects Dynamic Imaging
PACS
IntegradWeb Offers Accessibility and Scalability
Dynamic Imaging (Allendale, N.J.) has been selected by Good
Samaritan Hospital, a 431-bed, level 2 trauma center affiliated
with Catholic Health System of Long Island, to implement an advanced
Web-based PACS solution, following a comprehensive search of
vendors. Dynamic Imaging's IntegradWeb PACS, a second-generation
fully Web-driven PACS, will provide the hospital with full PACS
functionality and accessibility from any computer, while delivering
advanced 3D processing to the primary reading environment.
"IntegradWeb is an innovative solution that meets our full
range of clinical needs in a cost-effective fashion and also
will grow with us into the future," explains Dr. Matthew
Rifkin, Chairman of Radiology at Good Samaritan Hospital. Dr.
Rifkin assembled a multi-functional search team, representing
a full range of clinicians, hospital and department administrators
as well as IT and purchasing professionals to ensure selection
of a system that met the needs of all stakeholders. Dynamic Imaging
emerged the clear winner.
Good Samaritan Hospital has the second
busiest emergency room in Long Island. Given its fast-paced
environment, the hospital wanted a PACS that would not only
facilitate the migration to a filmless environment but also
provide advanced functionality, such as immediate access to
radiology studies throughout the hospital and to referring
physicians at a variety of locations. "The
ability to deliver complete accessibility and functionality anywhere
on- or off-campus was one of the key reasons we selected Dynamic
Imaging," says Dr. Rifkin.
Additionally, Good Samaritan searched
for a vendor offering a turnkey solution to make its vision
of a streamlined digital trauma center a reality. The hospital
wanted an advanced PACS solution fully integrated with digital
x-ray acquisition technology. Dr. Rifkin notes, "Dynamic
Imaging is simplifying our implementation and transition to
filmless by providing a comprehensive package consisting of
IntegradWeb PACS and DR and CR equipment."
A final factor in Good Samaritan's choice of IntegradWeb was
its advanced selection of 3D toolsets that are accessible directly
from within the IntegradWeb application.
Dr. Rifkin notes, "Large datasets produced by multi-slice
CT and MR scanners can become a significant bottleneck to the
radiologist's productivity even in a filmless environment." With
just a few clicks, IntegradWeb delivers a full selection of advanced
3D tools, without launching a separate application."
"We wanted a state-of-the-art filmless solution that would
grow and evolve with our busy hospital. The entire search team
agreed that IntegradWeb meets our needs now and will do so in
the future," concludes Dr. Rifkin.
