Dynamic Imaging Debuts Advanced 3D Tools, Image
SmartLoading™ and Advanced SecureServer™ at RSNA
2003
Chicago, Nov.
30, 2003 — Dynamic Imaging
(Allendale, N.J.), the leading PACS company, introduces at RSNA
2003 its next-generation IntegradWeb PACS, bringing the advanced
power of 3D processing to its Web-driven primary reading environment,
while significantly stepping up workflow with new tools and automated
features. Debuting at RSNA is an advanced selection of 3D toolsets
accessible directly from within the IntegradWeb viewing software.
These include multi-planar reformatting (MPR), maximum intensity
projection (MIP) and 3D rendering, which are growing in importance
with the proliferation of multi-slice scanners and their large
image datasets. Convenient user-programmed processing protocols
based on anatomical relevance, modality and individual physician
preference deliver unprecedented utilization of 3D in the PACS
environment. Results of image manipulations may be appended to
the study and stored directly to the IntegradWeb archive for
future reference.
"Efficient radiology workflow demands immediate access
to a full range of tools and information," comments Alex
Jurovitsky, CEO of Dynamic Imaging, LLC "As continuously
increasing datasets from advanced multi-slice CT and MR scanners
enter the mainstream, 3D processing in the workflow is receiving
increased emphasis. Addressing this, IntegradWeb now makes 3D
part of our mainstream PACS. With just a few clicks, the user
makes fast, clinically valuable use of this important data-intensive
information, without the disruption of having to launch a separate
application."
Along with 3D visualization, also
debuting at RSNA is Dynamic Imaging's new SmartLoading™ architecture,
which speeds display of 3D and other images in large datasets.
Based on progressive wavelet algorithms, Dynamic Imaging's
proprietary technology provides rapidly increasing levels of
image information in areas currently being viewed, while the
entire study continues to load in the background. This allows
reading to begin during image transfer, saving significant
time and enabling efficient diagnostic quality reading over
any bandwidth.
Stepping up to the next level of security,
the company's new generation of SecureServer™ technology
offers a wealth of new features as well as a comprehensive
toolset to facilitate HIPAA compliance. This complements existing
security features such as advanced automated tracking of all
system activity by user and study.
Along with new introductions, Dynamic Imaging showcases its
advanced Web architecture, which is based on a single database
and delivers a consistent working environment to all users, whether
radiologists or referring clinicians. At the same time, the company
demonstrates how the specific needs of different users are addressed
through automated hanging protocols and toolsets customized for
individual user groups. With IntegradWeb, full-fidelity images
are always available to all users on demand. Designed within
the framework of IHE, IntegradWeb also offers advanced connectivity
and fully integrated workflow with a wide range of healthcare
information technology vendors.
Another focus of interest at RSNA is the new 3D Visualization
Development Committee co-founded by Dynamic Imaging under the
auspices of the radiology department at Stony Brook University
Hospital and the University's computer science department. This
initiative evaluates a number of 3D visualization concepts for
their usefulness in the navigation of large datasets. Results
will be built into the IntegradWeb PACS and made available to
other PACS users.
