Stony Brook University Hospital Selects IntegradWeb
PACS
Cites Advanced Functionality and User-Friendly,
Customizable Interface
May 20, 2004,
Allendale, N.J — Dynamic Imaging, LLC has been
selected by Stony Brook University Hospital (SBUH) in Suffolk
County, N.Y., a prestigious university-based hospital offering
the latest advances in medicine, to implement an innovative Web-driven
PACS providing fast, efficient image communication and management
throughout the enterprise as well as to worldwide authorized
users.
A second-generation, fully Web-driven PACS, IntegradWeb will
employ server-centric, open architecture to deliver a consistent
user-friendly working environment to any Internet-enabled PC.
This will allow SBUH radiologists, referring physicians and other
authorized users to access the same image archive, databases
and toolsets wherever they are located. Functionality will be
customized for individual users and user groups.
IntegradWeb leads the industry with its advanced 3D image processing
and analysis tools, which are fully integrated into the primary
reading environment. The SBUH system will be deployed on the
latest EMC Clariion and Centera storage platforms.
"We believe that the Web-based system provides the greatest
value to our PACS Installation allowing customization and wide-ranging
access to images. This results in increased productivity for
radiologists and referring physicians ultimately benefiting the
patient's care," said Donald Harrington M.D., Chairman of
Radiology for Stony Brook University Hospital.
"We are proud to have been selected by such a prestigious
institution as Stony Brook University Hospital. Dynamic Imaging
is an innovator in Web-based PACS and was chosen, in part, because
of IntegradWeb's advanced functionality, as well as its commitment
to customizing a PACS implementation to meet a site's individual
needs." said Alex Jurovitsky, CEO of Dynamic Imaging, LLC
Jurovitsky points out that SBUH was impressed by IntegradWeb's
advanced 3D visualization capabilities. As SBUH's PACS partner,
Dynamic Imaging helped to found a 3D Visualization Committee
under the auspices of the radiology department and Stony Brook
University Computer Science Department. The initiative is evaluating
a range of 3D visualization concepts for usefulness in navigating
large datasets and will help shape Stony Brook's future development
and implementation of 3D visualization.
"Stony Brook has always had been an innovator in medical
imaging and image processing. We are very excited about the opportunity
to collaborate with SBUH's medical and scientific staff to forge
new frontiers in the functionality of PACS," comments Jurovitsky.
IntegradWeb was selected by SBUH following a comprehensive search
of major vendors that included RFPs, product demonstrations and
live onsite testing. Prior to selection, IntegradWeb was evaluated
in the radiology department and other hospital locations and
garnered an extremely positive response.
"Dynamic Imaging's aggressive product development strategy
has resulted in very impressive unique functionality which sufficiently
improved our diagnostic capabilities and workflow," comments
Robert Peyster, MD, Professor of Radiology and Neurology and
Chief of Neuroradiology, Stony Brook University Hospital. "Our
thorough evaluation of all other alternative vendors and their
respective technologies has convinced us that Dynamic Imaging's
IntegradWeb represents by far the best value in the marketplace."
