WebMD Practice Services and Dynamic Imaging
Announce
a Strategic Alliance to Market IntegradWeb with WebMD
Radiology Information Solutions
Combines the industry's leading billing
and administrative solution with advanced web-based clinical
functionality to improve workflow and diagnostic capabilities
for radiologists in outpatient settings
CHICAGO, November
29, 2004 — WebMD Practice
Services , a leading provider of administrative, financial and
clinical software and services to the nation's medical practices,
today announced that it will market Dynamic Imaging's IntegradWeb
Picture Archiving and Communications System (PACS) as part of
its radiology solutions product offering. WebMD made the announcement
at the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) 90 th scientific
assembly in Chicago (B ooth #2365).
WebMD will begin selling IntegradWeb PACS immediately, and will
interface IntegradWeb PACS with WebMD's radiology practice management
solutions. The combination of WebMD's radiology practice management
tools and the image analysis tools in IntegradWeb PACS delivers
a comprehensive solution for administrative staff and radiologists
in the outpatient radiology environment. Sites will be able to
monitor patient flow, manage multiple practice resources, and
quickly generate and distribute radiology reports, both in traditional
form and over the Internet.
WebMD has selected IntegradWeb PACS because of its innovative
capabilities and Web-based architecture, which enables easy exchange
of reports and full-fidelity images with users outside the radiology
practice. With proper authorization and appropriate privileges,
all remote users, such as teleradiologists, referring physicians,
and radiology colleagues consulted on a case -- can enjoy the
very same access and functionality as local users, via the web.
Using a secure, encrypted web protocol, all users, whether local
or remote, can access all of a patient's images and reports,
which are always available online.
Integrated Functionality
Planned in WebMD Radiology Navigator
In addition, WebMD will integrate Dynamic Imaging IntegradWeb
PACS along with WebMD Intergy Radiology Information Solution
(RIS) into WebMD's new unified desktop application, called the
WebMD Radiology Navigator. This tool will give radiologists access
to all patient information in an application that melds RIS and
PACS data and workflow. Radiologists will be able to view current
study images, prior studies and reports, critical patient history
information, pertinent documents, physician orders and other
relevant patient data from multiple sources, all of which are
critical to making a swift and accurate diagnosis. By pulling
together important clinical data - previously kept in disparate
locations - the WebMD Radiology Navigator will place all available
information at the radiologist's fingertips, creating a comprehensive
picture of the patient's condition and enabling the radiologist
to work more effectively. WebMD is previewing its design for
WebMD Radiology Navigator at RSNA 2004.
"We are pleased to be working with the innovative team
at Dynamic Imaging to deliver what radiologists really need --
a truly integrated workflow management and imaging solution that
makes clinical, financial and administrative information accessible
through a single desktop application," said Tom Stampiglia,
President and Chief Operating Officer of WebMD Practice Services.
"As a leader in diagnostic imaging technology, we wanted
to work with a leader in radiology information systems to bring
to market the next generation of solutions for radiologists:
solutions that meld business and diagnostic functionality into
applications that are easy to use," said Alex Jurovitsky,
Chief Executive Officer of Dynamic Imaging. "Dynamic Imaging
and WebMD uniquely deliver that advantage."
