Pittsburgh Mercy Health System Implements
Dynamic Imaging's IntegradWeb® PACS
Customized Enterprise PACS Designed to Fit Mercy's Distributed
Access Needs
Allendale,
NJ, February 27, 2006 — Dynamic
Imaging, an established leader in Web-based image and information
management, announced today that it was recently selected by
Pittsburgh Mercy Health System to implement IntegradWeb PACS
across its health care enterprise. Based upon current implementation
milestones, Pittsburgh Mercy Health System will go live with
IntegradWeb PACS on March 31, 2006.
Pittsburgh Mercy Health System has
a reputation for excellence that has helped it remain a health
care leader for more than 150 years. IntegradWeb PACS will
support its busy four-site enterprise that delivers over 145,000
annual radiology procedures. The facilities included in the
deployment are The Mercy Hospital of Pittsburgh and the SmartHealth
Outpatient Center in Green Tree. Many of the system’s radiology procedures are performed on 16-
and 40-slice computed tomography (CT) scanners, which the system
recently installed to provide the most advanced imaging technology.
IntegradWeb PACS will allow Pittsburgh Mercy Health System to
seamlessly manage these digital CT procedures, maximizing the
system’s efficiency in interpreting large multislice CT
studies and enabling it to use the CT scanners’ full range
of sophisticated capabilities.
IntegradWeb PACS will also integrate
with Pittsburgh Mercy Health System’s Siemens Novius Radiology Information System, providing
patient orders and results to PACS for automated study validation
and optimized workflow throughout the enterprise. Furthermore,
clinicians will be able to gain access to their patients’ entire
medical histories, to include radiology results and images, via
IntegradWeb PACS’ integration to Siemens’ Lifetime
Clinical Record (LCR).
Steve Adams, Pittsburgh Mercy Health
System’s vice president
and chief information officer, said, “Mercy is committed
to high-quality patient care using the latest available technology.
Dynamic Imaging’s IntegradWeb will allow us to provide
our patients with the most technologically advanced care possible.
We selected Dynamic Imaging because of their reputation for solid
support services and their ability to customize a system to fit
our needs.”
Pittsburgh Mercy Health System’s John R. Baker, M.D.,
Ph.D., an endovascular surgical neuroradiologist, is one of the
systems’ most vocal PACS champions. He will access PACS
at Mercy’s flagship institution, Mercy Hospital, and will
remotely interpret exams over the Web using the most advanced
embedded 3D features that can be used for on-call reading, even
at home. Once the 3D reconstructions have been completed, a single
click will append the reconstructed 3D images or movies to the
original study for immediate viewing by all authorized users.
This places 3D interpretation squarely in the middle of radiology
workflow, delivering the highest caliber of results reporting
to Pittsburgh Mercy Health System’s referring physicians.
“Pittsburgh Mercy Health System’s commitment to
the latest technology is a huge factor in its continued success.
IntegradWeb PACS will allow them to continue that tradition,” said
Alex Jurovitsky, Dynamic Imaging’s chief executive officer. “We’re
thrilled to bring our PACS technology to one of the most established
and respected health systems in Pittsburgh.”
